FOCUS Broadband to Issue $1 Million in Capital Credit Refunds
Shallotte, NC – FOCUS Broadband's Board of Directors has announced that the cooperative will issue $1 million in Capital Credit refunds to current and former cooperative members who had qualifying services in 2000.
"Because of the continued success of our cooperative, we're once again pleased to be able to give back to our membership through capital credit disbursements," said Whitney King, FOCUS Broadband Board President. He added, "Whether through capital credit disbursements to members, or the millions of dollars in network enhancements we're making to improve services within our cooperative footprint, the patronage of our members makes it all possible."
As a membership cooperative, FOCUS Broadband returns portions of revenues not used for operating expenses to its members through Capital Credits. This year's refund is part of more than $67.3 million in Capital Credit refunds issued to members since the company's inception.
Only members who had qualifying services in 2000 will receive a Capital Credit refund. Active members who are due a disbursement of less than $50 will see the refund applied as a credit on their September billing statement. Members with a disbursement of $50 or more will receive a check in the mail. All Capital Credit checks will be mailed out in September.
