FOCUS Broadband Completes Boiling Spring Lakes Fiber Upgrade Project
Boiling Spring Lakes, NC – FOCUS Broadband announced that the company has completed a $9 million-dollar project to replace the aging copper network in Boiling Spring Lakes with a new fiber optic network. Residents and businesses in Boiling Spring Lakes now have access to high-speed Internet with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit as well as digital cable TV and home telephone services.

In addition to the Boiling Spring Lakes upgrade, FOCUS Broadband crews are nearing completion of a project to bring fiber optic service to the beachfront area of Oak Island and the cooperative has made speeds of up to 1 Gig available for many cable modem (DOCSIS) plant customers in the communities of Seaside, Calabash and inland areas of Holden Beach. Gigabit service for other areas near Shallotte, Supply and Bolivia will be available later this fall. These upgrades are part of the cooperative’s multi-year, $100 million dollar project, aimed at improving services and bringing faster speeds to customers throughout Brunswick County. The project’s ultimate goal is to serve every cooperative member with fiber optics.
