FOCUS Broadband Now Participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program
Shallotte, NC – FOCUS Broadband announced today that it is participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program designed to aid households who meet certain eligibility requirements in paying for internet service. The Affordable Connectivity Program helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The FCC is using the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) to implement the program.
This federal program will provide a temporary monthly discount of up to $30 on internet bills for households that meet certain income eligibility requirements. Enrollment is available now.
To take advantage of this benefit, customers must first check to see if they meet program eligibility requirements by going to the www.acpbenefit.org website. Here customers may need to present verification documentation proving they meet eligibility requirements. Other methods which may be used to determine eligibility are listed on the verification website. Customers who are already enrolled in the FCC’s Lifeline Program for Low-Income Consumers are automatically eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Once program eligibility status has been determined, customers may contact FOCUS Broadband to finish enrolling in the program and have the benefit applied to their existing internet service or establish new internet service. Customers must have their eligibility for the program determined through www.acpbenefit.org before calling FOCUS Broadband. There is a limit of one benefit per household per month. Once the program ends, households participating in ACP will be subject to the undiscounted rates, general terms and conditions at the end of the program to continue to receive service.
