Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Wind-Down FAQs

Can I still enroll in the Affordable Connectivity Program?

Starting on February 8, 2024, the ACP will not be accepting new enrollments. If you qualified for ACP but did not sign up with an internet provider before February 7, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET, then you can no longer enroll in ACP. Households that are de-enrolled from the ACP under FCC rules will not be able to re-apply or re-enroll in the ACP during the enrollment freeze.

What if I applied for the ACP benefit before February 8, 2024, and am waiting to hear back on my application?

As of February 8, 2024, applications for the ACP are no longer being processed. We encourage you to visit www.lifelinesupport.org to see if your household may qualify for the FCC's Lifeline program, which offers an internet discount.

I am currently receiving an ACP credit on my FOCUS Broadband account. When will my benefit end?

Without an allocation of additional funding from Congress, the last fully funded month for the ACP benefit is April 2024. Households who have applied, been approved, and are receiving the monthly internet discount before February 8, 2024, will continue to receive their full ACP benefit until April 2024, as long as the household remains enrolled in the program.

When the ACP program ends, how will it affect the monthly charges for my internet service on my FOCUS Broadband bill?

After ACP ends, the $30 credit you are currently receiving towards your internet service on your FOCUS Broadband bill will be removed and you will be responsible for any remaining charges for your internet service.

If the ACP program ends, how will it affect the Lifeline Benefit I currently receive?

If you are currently receiving a Lifeline Benefit and a benefit through FOCUS Broadband’s Lifeline Benefit Match program, you will continue to do so when the ACP program ends. Any credits applied to your FOCUS Broadband account because of Lifeline eligibility will remain on your account as long as you are eligible for and enrolled in the Lifeline program.

Will the FOCUS Broadband internet plan I am on change if the ACP program ends?

Once the ACP ends, you will remain on your existing internet plan unless you are on the 50 Mbps internet plan. The broadband speeds you receive will not change and the regular standard rate for your monthly internet charges will stay the same. However, if you are on the 50 Mbps internet plan, that is an ACP-specific offering that FOCUS Broadband will no longer offer once the ACP ends in April and you will be asked to select another internet plan or you will automatically be upgraded to the 300 Mbps at the standard rate.

What steps can I take to help reduce the charges on my internet bill when the ACP program ends?

If you are not currently enrolled in the FCC’s Lifeline program, we encourage you to visit www.lifelinesupport.org to see if your household may qualify. Lifeline provides up to a $9.25 monthly discount on high-speed internet service for eligible households. For customers who receive Lifeline, FOCUS Broadband offers a Lifeline Match program that provides an additional $9.25 monthly credit. The two benefits combined provide a total credit of $18.50 that can be applied to any FOCUS Broadband internet plan. You may qualify for Lifeline if you or someone in your household receives SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Veterans Pension and Survivor Benefit. You may also qualify for Lifeline based on your income.

Will I receive additional notification letting me know when my benefit will end?

We encourage you to check this page frequently for updates regarding ACP. Unless ACP receives additional funding, April will be the last fully funded month for the ACP benefit. You will be provided with an official 30-day notice in advance of the program end date. Notices will be included on your FOCUS Broadband monthly statement and will be sent to you via the email address you provided upon program enrollment.

What can I do?
