Whiteville, NC – FOCUS Broadband has been named “Best Internet Provider” in the News Reporter’s 2025 Best of Columbus People’s Choice Awards, earning the top spot for the fifth consecutive year. These annual awards celebrate standout businesses and services across Columbus County, with winners chosen directly by residents.

This continued recognition comes as FOCUS Broadband advances its long-term commitment to expanding high-speed internet access in Columbus County. Earlier this year, the company was a recipient of a North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) Program project grant. This project will expand fiber optic broadband service to some of the remaining underserved addresses throughout the county, helping close the digital divide and improving connectivity for more local families, farms, and small businesses.

Since 2010, the company has leveraged both federal and state broadband programs to secure approximately $20 million in funding, as well as investing more than $11 million, to expand broadband access in Columbus County.
