FOCUS Broadband Awards Scholarships to High School Seniors

Shallotte, NC Continuing its tradition of supporting local high school seniors in their academic pursuits, FOCUS Broadband has announced the recipients of its 2024 scholarships. Ten outstanding students have been awarded $2,000 scholarships each. These scholarships were open to students residing in any of FOCUS Broadband's service areas and are granted based on academic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and interview skills.

The 2024 FOCUS Broadband Scholarship Recipients are:

  •          Anderson Metty, North Brunswick High School
  •          Lauren Sturdivant, West Brunswick High School
  •          Delanie Jackson, South Brunswick High School
  •          Ella Moffitt, South Brunswick High School
  •          Daijah Davis, Whiteville High School
  •          La’Tonia Mason, James Kenan High School
  •          Reece Anna Cribb, South Columbus High School
  •          Layla Bullard, West Columbus High School
  •          Josiah Johnson, West Brunswick High School
  •          Gracelyn Byrd, South Columbus High School

This year, FOCUS Broadband’s Board of Directors awarded an additional $1,000 Rylee Brinson Scholarship to South Columbus High School’s Bryce Harrelson who will be attending Campbell University in the fall to study engineering. This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Rylee Brinson, a former South Columbus High School student, and his dedication to academic excellence.

The FOCUS Broadband Scholarship program received 67 applications for consideration this year. “We are so proud of this program and to be able to provide scholarships for students. Each of the 2024 scholarship winners exemplifies a strong commitment to their education and communities,” said Keith Holden, FOCUS Broadband CEO. “We look forward to witnessing their future successes.”  

Since the program’s establishment in 2002, FOCUS Broadband has awarded $153,000 to 97 students. The application window for FOCUS Broadband’s scholarship program will reopen again in October.
