Shallotte, N.C. – Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation (ATMC) held its 64th Annual Meeting of Members, Friday, October 1st, at Odell Williamson Auditorium. A total of $3,000 in cash prizes was given away and more than 2,500 members registered for the meeting.
Directors Albert H. “Al” Parker, Jr. (District 5), R. Gene Ward (District 7) and John William “Buster” Dowless (Western Region) were each re-elected for three-year terms to the cooperative board.
ATMC’s Board President, James H. “Jamie” Milliken, spoke about the company’s financial stability and continued commitment to their members throughout the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Milliken also spoke about the cooperative’s most recent $2 million-dollar capital credit allocation and the company’s focus on enhancing and improving services for members, as well as the benefit of expanding into new areas, “One of the foundational principles of a cooperative is to bring connectivity to rural communities who need it. We’ve done that for over 60 years and we’re going to continue to do it,” commented Milliken.
CEO and General Manager, Keith Holden, spoke about the cooperative’s achievements over the last year and what ATMC will focus on moving forward. “Because of the ongoing support of our 50,000 members and customers and the hard work of our over 300 employees, we are able to make incredible investments in both our network and new areas.” He added, “We are proud of the work our employees have done to keep your cooperative successful.”
